SCC U13 VS STEYNING CC U13

Under 13's welcomed Steyning for the first game of the season. We had some last minute changes to the team but we managed to get a squad together.  
Steyning won the toss and elected to field. 
After a shaky start and 2 quick wickets we found our rhythm, run rate was steady and there were some really good shots played.
Steyning seemed to tighten up on their bowling and somehow we found ourselves 45 for 6, a great partnership from Harrison and Jem managed to steady our nerve and get us to a very respectable 79-7, innings over, Steynings turn to bat. 
Just as we started to find our line and length and with the scores even after 6 overs, the heavens opened and the forecasted rain came. After a quick discussion we agreed to carry on in the hope it would stop, we managed to squeeze one more over in before the gods decided they had seen enough and the rain really came down. Match abandoned with the points shared between the two teams.
We really saw some positive stuff out there today which bodes well for the season.
