Treasurers Report

  • Jude reflected on the great fundraising efforts across the year including cycling, ladies evening, sponsored walk, parents Vs kids with Ben and Brian’s teams, Rins Quiz

  • Membership income was up YoY. Combination of increase in membership numbers as well as slight increase on price from 2023

  • Match fees was also a big contributor to income for the year

  • Sponsorship decreased but aligned with 2 year deals where income was weighted in 2023

  • Expenditure increased by 15%

  • Insurance and rent are also larger costs

  • Utilities we took on from the leisure centre. Jude wants to record thanks to them for the partnership we had with them on costs for many years. We now are responsible for paying that.

  • We have more equipment so thus more depreciation

Membership fees:

  • James Harrington researched Cricket Clubs in the local area and the average price was way above SCC prices. The committee strive to reach a membership fee that is fair and commensurate with the amount of cricket played and with the facilities the club provides. We also need to reflect prices in alignment with the clubhouse development project.

  • With this in mind we recommend increasing prices for the 2025 season.

  • Martin - hardship applications are most welcome

  • James proposes new fees:

    • Adult: £70

    • Womens £25

    • Cygnets £70, £130, £180,

    • DiscoverAbility £25,

    • social fee £25.

  • Ben asks if the snr fee represents value for money with the amount of games? James replies that there are more than enough league, T20 and friendly fixtures within the adult calendar and the prices reflects value for money.

  • Ben is keen to avoid match fee for juniors, it puts an additional strain on families. Ben says the junior section represents very good value for money. Committee agrees to keep the status quo.

  • Ben proposes £70, £120, £160 for kids.

  • All Stars: Steve proposes consideration to change at a later date.

  • Family membership concept proposed by Carly and the committee can understand why this could be a good idea. Committee to review a family membership and add at a later date.

  • It was agreed that if a player has two games of cricket then a full membership fee is due.

  • Emily mentioned if someone isn't a member are they covered by the insurance? Chris W thinks that might not be the case. Committee to check on this

  • Club agrees fees as below for the 2025 season:

    • All fees confirmed:

    • Adult: £70

    • Womens £25

    • Cygnets £70, £130, £180,

    • DiscoverAbility £25,

    • social fee £25.

Match Fees: Club to continue same match fees as last year

  • £10 Adults: Saturday league matches, £12.50 for tea + match fee. u18’s £5 and £7.50 for tea for Senior matches

  • Junior match fees are £5 for indoor games

  • T20: £5 per match

  • Womens: Indoor fees will be covered by the amount of players. No outdoor match fees. £2.50 pp if tea provided.

  • Development: £10 per adult, £5 u18

  • Teas: £40 for an away tea.

AOB:

  • James Harrington to attend the League AGM at Sussex CC

  • Tim asks about Spond, can we amalgamate all senior teams together? Jude says yes. Tim will organise.

  • Jude: Clubhouse update as above. 7-8 quotes from the builders so far. That needs to be appraised and one selected in time.

  • Rin: Asks if we could have a tour. Rin is happy to organise. Committee more than happy to promote that.

  • James suggests a cygnets honours board and members vote yes to proceed.

  • Emily asks if we can have photos of the different teams. Fish said we should have a scrolling screen. This will be rolled out in 2025.

  • Guy suggests a President Day, which is a great idea. Guy happy to organise.

  • Jason suggests we should consider a lighter blue. Martin proposes it is a discussion point for the cygnets committee

  • Martin: Thanks all in attendance. Martin gives thanks to Steve, after 12 years as Vice Chairman Martin mentions Steve has been a fantastic Chairman. He and Steve have never had a cross word with each other in this time period which is testament to Steve’s leadership style. The club has achieved so far in the 12 years

  • Martin awards Steve the Rose Bowl trophy to reflect all the work, commitment and effort AND success he has driven in the club over the past 12 years. In addition Steve is presented with a small gift from the Club
